My first journey to India, in the winter of 2004, can be politely described as a partial disaster. To my surprise -- and ultimate relief -- my impressions of India the second go around were significantly better than my first visit. Yes, the pollution, crowds, traffic, poverty and begging could still be daunting at times, but rather than shield myself from these experiences I attempted to embrace them.
The photos in this book/gallery, Scenes of India, were taken during my second Indian experience in August of 2007. Shooting through the window of a moving car and walking through various landmarks and city locations these images are a look at the daily life of the Indian people in their urban environments.
